Discover the Pantheon in Rome

Yes. Since July 2023, the Pantheon is no longer free for tourists. While it remains a functioning church, an entry ticket is mandatory for all visitors except for residents of Rome and children under 18. Booking your ticket online in advance is highly recommended to secure your preferred time slot and avoid the risk of tickets selling out on the day.

There are three separate lines: Cash-only, Card-only, and Pre-booked. The first two lines often have wait times exceeding 45–60 minutes in the Roman sun. By purchasing your ticket online, you enter the Pre-booked “Fast-Track” line, which typically gets you inside in under 10–15 minutes.

The Oculus is the 9-meter wide open hole at the top of the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome. To see the famous “beam of light” effect, the best time to visit is between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM when the sun is highest. If it rains, don’t worry—the floor is slightly slanted with hidden drainage holes to handle the water, creating a unique and magical atmosphere inside.

Yes. Because the Pantheon is the Basilica of St. Mary and the Martyrs, it follows strict Catholic church etiquette. Both men and women must have their shoulders and knees covered. Transparent clothing or hats are not allowed inside. If you are visiting in summer, we recommend carrying a light scarf or shawl in your bag to drape over your shoulders before entering.

Beyond the incredible architecture, the Pantheon is the final resting place of Italian royalty and Renaissance legends. Key highlights include:
